I’ve spent more than a decade helping people answer a simple question; How do we create meaningful change?

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in higher education, nonprofit leadership, civic engagement, advocacy, and community organizing. No matter the setting, I’ve found myself drawn to the same work; helping people understand the systems around them, develop the confidence to lead, and turn ideas into action.

I started Common Ground Consulting because I saw a gap. Too often, organizations invest in trainings that inspire people for a day but don’t change anything six months later. People leave with good intentions but no clear path forward. My approach is different. I believe learning should be practical, leadership should be accessible, and every conversation should move people closer to action.

As a facilitator, educator, and strategist, I help organizations strengthen leadership, navigate complex challenges, engage their communities, and align their values with their everyday practices. Whether I’m leading a workshop, facilitating a difficult conversation, developing a leadership program, or guiding a strategic planning process, my goal is the same; help people leave with greater clarity, stronger skills, and a roadmap for what comes next.

My work is informed by both professional experience and lived experience. As a trans Latinx leader and cancer survivor, I understand firsthand that systems do not affect everyone equally. Those experiences have shaped how I approach leadership, community, and change; with curiosity, accountability, empathy, and a belief that lasting change happens when people feel both challenged and supported.

I hold a Master of Nonprofit and Civic Leadership and a Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership, but the most important thing I’ve learned is that people already hold tremendous knowledge, power, and potential. My role is to help uncover it, strengthen it, and put it into action.
